Our history

Our roots lie in New Zealand, where the green-lipped mussel has been a valuable component of the national diet for centuries. Researchers were fascinated by their special nutrient composition, which led to the development of the Original Perna Extract in 1996 – a 100% natural green-lipped mussel extract that has formed the basis of all Pernaton products ever since.
